Great place . Great service
We bought a new smartlock and I called Top Notch on a weekday afternoon to have it installed. When I tried to schedule a time they asked when was good for us. I said "how about right now?" to which they replied "ok somebody will call you in 20 minutes". Sure enough somebody called us and was there within the hour to install our new smart lock. He stayed to make sure it was functioning properly and left his cell number with us in case there were problems over the next few days. Great service!

Henry was very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. I highly recommend everyone to go to him for any key related matters!
The best locksmith/key shop in the tristate area!!! Went just before closing desperately to get copies of keys! Henry happily let us in & accommodated us to our highest standards. Henry is truly a loyal amazing employee & deserves the up most respect. Would highly recommend Top Notch Services for any key needs. They are truly TOO NOTCH!
I would never use this company again. They used third party contractors and deny any liability if anything goes wrong.
I got locked out of my apartment and called them for assistance. They sent two guys, who I later found out were just subcontractors. They got me into my apartment but broke my lock in the process. They then took off the entire lock and door handles, and said they had to go get another guy to fix it.
When I called the company to find out why the guys had still not come back nearly three hours later. I was told to stop accusing them of doing faulty work and they even alleged that my lock was broken when they got there! He then told me to stop calling him. Below is a picture of what my door looked like after their guys had taken off everything and left.
The subcontractors eventually came back and fixed my door at Midnight. They also charged me more because they "helped me out" by fixing the lock, which the they broke!
According to the sign at the door the physical location is open from 9 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday. Unfortunately I have been trying to copy a key and the place is not available at the times specified. My roommate and I have gone on two separate days at 9:15 and 9:30 respectively and the place is not open. Please change the times for 10 - 6pm so this does not happen again.
Fast service, but definitely more expensive than I thought. The locksmith had to drill through the lock, overall was only here for 5 minutes, but I was charged $350.
On the phone they said he could take cash or card, but he would only accept cash, and he said this after I got into my apartment. So be wary, you will most likely have to pay cash.
Changed my broken lock and doorknob. These guys are fast (when they say "we will be there in fifteen minutes" they mean it). Would use them again, and refer them to friends. Best in Manhattan.
Have gotten my keys copied here multiple times. Always quickly done and never had to wait! Great place!
Matthew (or David?) and Renee came to give us an estimate for installation of a new A/C to replace a 20 year old In Wall A/C. I'd done lots of research and spoken to lots of Yelp suggested AC services but was still uncertain about the not-very-good options for a fourth floor loft with no balcony. A Split wouldn't work and there was no good In Wall replacement. Some people had suggested putting in a window unit in the old sleeve and filling up the gap, others just cleaning the old units.
The guys came to the apartment and went through all the options with me in a knowledgeable and helpful way. Installing a window unit in the window using PC Richards turned out to be the best option. He said you might as well get them to do it. Really honest in other words.
We still aren't sure what to do because we don't want to lose the window space and we already have a sleeve in place but they really helped us narrow the options down.
Thanks Top Notch.
After a fire in the space below my apartment, the FDNY crowbarred my door and jammed it closed, then entered through a window and locked all the doors from the inside. Roye came on his way home at 11:30pm (after getting to work at 8am) to help me get in. He's really nice and has explained everything and talked through pricing. He is awesome and I cannot recommend his business highly enough.
Amazing prices and great service for key copies and lock services. Will come back again!
Estimated wait was 45 minutes but they showed up in 1.5 hrs which is expected on a Saturday evening. The team was able to fix our problem (key broke in car ignition) within 20 minutes. The fee was a bit high (200$) but that's what happens when you break your car key on a Saturday in NYC.
The guys who came (one named Sam) were pleasant and got the job done in a timely matter.
I went here to get back up keys for my studio. Excellent and fast service ! Very clean store
Helpful staff too :)
This is the best locksmith and key service in New York City. Alan has helped me out of two emergency situations where he was able to unlock padlocks that I had lost my keys for. His business is really top notch and services everything that you could need for surveillance and security. I fully recommend his services.
5 stars, hands down. I had the most enjoyable visit to Top Notch Security. I misplaced my keys and Quiana, who is an absolute angel, solved my problems with ease and grace in a matter of minutes for a phenomenal rate.
Definitely coming back for all of my key/security troubles and referring all of my friends.
I got locked out and I had no cellphone, no keys, so I walked across the street to the neighborhood locksmith. The last time I did this to myself was in the 1990s, so I had a bit of rude awakening when I found out that the whole thing would cost me close to $300. I was missing my flight, which meant more money too, I was highly stressed, and broke down. These guys gave me a $30 discount, which made me feel a little better. And today they made me a copy of my keys. They have 24 hour service by phone and very nice people working behind the desk making copies of keys during regular business hours. They get the job done and I'm very glad they are in my neighborhood.
I love this place. The key to my building is apparently very rare - I went to no less than 5 other key cutting places before I found Top Notch and they had the key I needed. Now I go back to them for all my key cutting needs - the staff is very nice, as is the store front. Unlike most key cutting places, this one feels very inviting, clean, and roomy.
I had to make a copy of a key, and the people at TNS were willing to stay an hour past their closing time to accommodate my needs - Simply Amazing! When I got there, they were fast, professional, and on point.
You just cannot ask for more from a business, period. These guys are fantastic!
I needed to have my keys copied, but here they don't copy I-security keys. They recommended me a place (317 grand street) where they copy that type.
